Small Cities
Big Opportunities

Our Cities

When your company sets up shop in a small city, you become part of something big. Here in Orange County, we have three small yet vibrant cities that are attracting new businesses and residents, as our local urban revitalization movement continues to gain momentum. To the east, the City of Newburgh overlooks the majestic Hudson River; to the west, downtown Port Jervis is nestled in the bucolic Delaware River Valley; and the bustling City of Middletown – whose resurgence has been underway for years now – is located, well, in the middle. All three have direct access to the metropolitan railroad network that connects Orange County to New York City (less than 60 miles away) and northern New Jersey, providing a built-in tourism component for local attractions such as our breweries and distilleries.

Each city has its own unique appeal and opportunities, and each are drawing new, diverse companies that not only create jobs, but enhance the fabric of our urban communities. And when you come to one of our cities, you get all the advantages of being in the "Crossroads of the Northeast"; an unbeatable location within 100 miles of 27 million potential customers, an unsurpassed business-friendly climate, and a county-wide team that is here to help make your move to Orange County an outstanding experience!

Middletown

The City of Middletown, located in the Center of Orange County, is known for its eclectic downtown, its
restaurant row, even its own film festival. Surrounding the downtown are a variety of commercial properties that
support back office space, manufacturing and auxiliary health care services.

Newburgh

Newburgh’s link to a robust regional transportation system, including the NYS Thruway (I-87) and I-84, its
navigable Hudson River access and proximity to Stewart International Airport, positions the city as an affordable
alternative to Brooklyn and the Bronx. Newburgh’s revitalized waterfront is one of the most popular destinations
in Orange County, featuring restaurants, shops and night spots.

  • "Newburgh is ideally located for a manufacturing/distribution company with it's easy access to major highways, rail and air transit."

Port Jervis

The City of Port Jervis is situated on the Delaware River and is in the heart of the tristate region of New York,
New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It is a historic city that has served as a transportation center for hundreds of years.
